Funeral services were held on Sunday, Feb. 8th, at Murray for Homer Saffell for former resident with burial at St. Charles cemetery. He passed away Thursday, Feb. 5th.

Last rites for Homer Lee Saffell were held Sunday, Feb. 8, at the Murray Methodist church under the direction of Watts Funeral service, with Rev. K. E. Nesbitt officiating. Burial was in the St. Charles cemetery. He was 58 years old.
Saffell was a son of Perry and Frona and was born August 9, 1894. He died at his home in Murray on February 4, after a long illness.
A plumber by trade, he spent the early part of his life in the Murray vicinity. He served two years in the armed forces during World War I. He was a member of the Methodist church at St. Charles.
On August 8, 1917, he was united in marriage to Eithel German. To this union were born a daughter, Carol, and son, Russell. Both his wife and son preceded him in death. In Feb. 1940, he was married to Mae Mickey, at Waterloo, Iowa.
He is survived by his widow, Mae; his daughter, Mrs. Carol Stephens of Prescott, Iowa; an adopted son, Lyle, at home; a step-daughter, Jeanne, of Kansas City, Mo.; two grandsons; three sisters, Mrs. Francis White of Waterloo, Mrs. Vida Shepherd of Denver, and Mrs. Lucille Burchett of Watsonville, Calif.; a brother, Donald, of Dallas, Tex. (Another brother, Glenn, Preceded him in death.) There are also his step-father, George Carns; two step-brothers and four step-sisters.
