The angel of death visited our community, taking from us one in the blossom of youth, but God’s works in mysterious ways but some time will understand. This time little Minnie Cole answered the summons after a few days illness having gone to her master where there is no more suffering or pain.

She was born at Sandyville, Warren county, Ia., October 13, 1897 and died July 22d, aged 10 years, 9 months and 9 days. She was the youngest daughter of Phebe and Harris Cole. Surviving her are her parents, three brothers, and three sisters, namely, Mrs. Anna Cox, of St. Charles, Leonard, of Carlisle, Mrs. Oda Flathers, of Delmar, Ia., Fred, Horace and Fannie residing at home, who are left to mourn their loss. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to them in their deep hour of affliction.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wm. Mercer at the M.E. church on Saturday, July 25th, at 10:30 and interment made in St. Charles cemetery.
