T.H. DeBord Dies Suddenly

T.H. DeBord, one of the oldest residents of Patterson, died here in Winterset, Saturday. He had come to Winterset to call on his physician when he suffered a heart attack and died suddenly at the home of his sister, Mrs. W.H. Doan, where he had gone to make a call while waiting to see his physician.

Mr. DeBord had charge of the Rock Island depot at Patterson for more than thirty years. As his reward for long and grateful service, the railroad company gave him retirement and an annuity when he reached the age of seventy.

Five children, all grown to maturity survive the father, also three sisters, Mrs. Guilliams of Oklahoma, Mrs. Henry Cunningham, of Arkansas, and Mrs. Doan of Winterset.

Mr. DeBord was a man of unswerving fidelity to duty and uprightness in every conduct of life. His influence in the community where he lived so long will be missed.
