Anna Hayden Dies at Age 98

Anna Belle Hayden of Truro died at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola last Tuesday, December 31. She was 96 years of age.

Mrs. Hayden was born in Clarke County on November 30, 1876, the daughter of Austin and Cathryn Jones Fields. She was educated in Clarke and Warren County schools, and was married on September 24, 1891 to Charles Hayden at Osceola.

Mrs. Hayden, a member of the Christian Church at Truro, formerly held an office with the relief corps at Peru.

Survivors include one daughter, Zoe Scott of Truro; three grandchildren, four great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Mae Denly of Osceola.

Mrs. Hayden was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three daughters, one son, five brothers, three sisters, a granddaughter, two grandsons, and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 3, at the Kale Funeral Home in Truro, with the Rev. Richard Hempenlus officiating. Burial was in the Peru Cemetery.

Anna Hayden Dies Dec. 31

Anna Belle Hayden, 98-year old resident of Truro, died at the Clarke County Public Hospital Tuesday, December 31 1974. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 3, at 1:30 p.m. from the Kale Funeral Home in Truro with the Rev. Richard Hempenius officiating.

Anna Belle Hayden was born November 30, 1876, in Clarke County, Iowa, daughter of Austin Fields and Catherine Jones Fields. She attended schools in Clarke and Warren counties and on September 24, 1891, was married to Charles Hayden in Osceola. Five children were born to this union.

She was a housewife and participated in community affairs. She was affiliated with the Christian Church in Truro and was a member of the Relief Corps in Peru, Iowa.

Survivors include a daughter, Zoe Scott of Truro; grandchildren, Mrs. Kathryn Edwards of Grand River; Donna Rhone of Tucson Arizona; Tom (Junior) Gordon of Gardner, Kansas; four great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and one sister, Mae Denly of Osceola.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles in 1932; three daughters and one son; five brothers and three sisters; one granddaughter; two grandsons and two great grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Peru Cemetery.
