June Weems Services Held

Funeral services were held here this Tuesday afternoon for June E. Weems of Winterset, who died at her home here last Saturday, January 11. She was 63 years of age.

June Elizabeth Weems was born in Mahaska County, Iowa on June 13, 1911, the daughter of Dr. Arthur and Louise Berry Ayres. She was married to Percy B. Weems at Bakersfield, California on September 3, 1941.

A teacher in her early life, Mrs. Weems was affiliated with the Church of Latter Day Saints. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Mrs. Weems had been a resident of Madison County for 30 years.

Survivors include her husband, Percy, of Winterset, and two daughters; Mrs.James (Donna) Dueling of Des Moines and Mrs. Curtis (Ardith) Hiatt of Winterset. Also surviving are three grandchildren and two sisters; Alyce Browne of Ottumwa and Peggy Perry of Santa Clara, California.

Mrs. Weems was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with the Rev. Asa E. Smith officiating. Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery.
