Death of Robert Raitt -

Robert Raitt, one of the early settlers of this county, died Sunday at this home just east of the Tileville schoolhouse.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday and burial made at the Mt. Pelier cemetery, north of Patterson.

Obituary

Robert Raitt was born in Delhi county, New York, Jan. 19th, 1835, and died Jan. 9th, 1910, age 74 years, 11 months and 9 days. He was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Kinman, Jan. 1st, 1868. To this union five children were born, three sons and two daughters. The oldest daughter departed this life at the age of fifteen years.

He leaves a wife and four children to mourn their loss of a kind and loving husband and father. He united with the United Presbyterian church at the age of sixteen years at Andes, N. Y. He lived a faithful consistent Christian life to the end, ever being kind and obliging to his fellow men.

The funeral services were held at the home near Tileville, Jan. 11th at 1:00 o’clock conducted by Rev. G. E. Nichols, of Patterson. Interment was made at the Montpelier cemetery.

His spirit, has soared to the world of mirth;
Awaiting loved ones in that home above.
Where all is joy, all is love.”
