Death of Mrs. Dan Martin

Mrs. Dan Martin died very suddenly last Thursday evening at her home in the southeast part of this city. She had been in very poor health for some time from paralitic disease and her death was due to a reoccurence of that ailment.

Funeral services were held at the Christian church Saturday forenoon, Rev. L. E. Follansbee, her former pastor conducted the services.

Obituary

Mary M. Devault was born July 29, 1841 in Chilicothe, Ohio and was married to Daniel S. Martin June 9, 1861 at Covington, Ohio and departed this life December 30, 1909 in Winterset, Iowa.

To this union were born 8 children, 2 having preceded their mother, one son and one daughter, leaving a loving husband, 3 daughters and three sons to mourn the departure of a loving mother to a better home above.

She was converted in 1858-9 in Covington, Ohio and joined the Cumberland Presbyterian church. After moving to Winterset she joined the First Christian church in 1875 and she has lived a true and constant Christian every since, until her death.
