Opal Christine Vancil, 89, Pleasant Hill in Cass County, died Jan. 9, 1994, at Cass County Medical Center, Harrisonville. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wallace Chapel, Pleasant Hill; burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.

Mrs. Vancil was born in San Francisco, and lived in Des Moines, Iowa, moving to this area in 1952. She was a sales clerk for the Three Sisters Dress Shop, retiring in 1967. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Pleasant Hill.

Her husband, Walter A. Vancil, died in 1966.

Survivors include a daughter, Eva Bell, Pleasant Hill; a sister, Pearl Duff, Torrance, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Note: Three of Opal's children were born in Madison County, Earl, Edward and Lyman Vancil.
