Obituary

Olive A. Reinard was born in Madison county, May 30th, 1869, and died at her residence in De Soto, Nov. 16th, 1905, age thirty-six years, five months and sixteen days. She was married April 24th, 1895, to John Kitchell. To this union were born four children, Louise, who preceeded her mother to the better land, Robbie age six, Lois age three and Josephine age twenty months.

After an illness of more than a years duration she passed quietly and gently to her eternal home. Her patient endurance throughout her lingering illness was remarkable, no words of complaint fell from her lips, she bore her suffering as one anticipating a reward. Her faith in God never wavered and she was ever ready to talk of His goodness to her. She talked to loving friends of the change that awaited her and her beautiful words and perfect faith were an inspiration to all who heard her.

We find ourselves asking why one so young and so useful should be called away but the answer comes “God knows best.” He makes no mistakes. We can only say “It is well with her; the will of the Lord be done.”

She leaves a husband, three children, father, mother, one sister and five brothers, besides many friends to mourn her loss.

This broken family can only expect reunion beyond the skies, we commend them to the mercy and protection of a blessed Savior. To the loved ones who are so stricken we remind you that although she loved you dearly she is not lost to you, her love is eternal, it will be with you forever.

The funeral services were held at Fairview, the church she loved so well, on Nov. 17th, conducted by Rev. Brown and amid a host of sorrowing friends her body was gently laid to rest. Beautiful flowers covered the handsome casket.

She was loved wherever she was known and although she was with us but a few short years her influence is still with us and will ever remain as an encouragement for us to follow in her foot-steps until we shall one day meet her.
