Mrs. Annie Shade Dies At Creston

Mrs. Leland Shade of Creston died Tuesday September 5 at Grater Community Hospital in Creston. She was 69 years of age.

Mrs. Shade was born at New Holland, Ga. on April 21, 1903. She was the former Annie Kathleen Garrish, daughter of John and Roxy Lloyd Garrish. She was a registered nurse in Georgia prior to her marriage to Leland shade, which occurred August 25, 1968 at Adel.

She was a member of the Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband Leland Shade of Creston; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Thomas of Martinez, Ga.; two step-children, Murray Shade of Creston and Mrs. Goldie Brown of Oskaloosa; a grandson; a brother, John Garrish of LaGrange, Ga.; and four sisters, Mrs. Georgia Merck, Maggie Garrish, Verda Garrish, and Violet Garrish, all of New Holland, Ga.

Funeral services were held Friday from the Collins funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. H. B. Borum, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Jackson township cemetery.
