LOLA SMITH OF WINTERSET DIES

Mrs. Harold E. Smith of Winterset died Tuesday, April 8, at University Hospital in Iowa City, following major surgery. She was 61 years of age.

Mrs. Smith was a resident of Madison county most of her life. She was the former Lola Mary Bradshaw, daughter of William F. and Elmetta VanScoy Bradshaw. For many years she had been employed as a restaurant cook.

She was married at West Star on Aug. 26, 1933, to Harold E. Smith, who survives her.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the Methodist church at St. Charles, and later at Winterset. She was also a member of the Sixty-Plus club here.

In addition to her husband, she leaves a son, Lowell D. Smith of Indianola, and a daughter, Sharon Smith of Winterset. Three daughters preceded her in death, two in infancy and Shirley Smith in 1967.

She also leaves four grandchildren; a sister, Ena Smith of St Charles; and three brothers, Clarence Bradshaw of Casper, Wyo., Joe Bradshaw of Martensdale; and Ray Bradshaw of Dexter.

Funeral services were held Friday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Richard L Jones. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
