MRS. G.M’CREA DIES AT AGE 86

Was Resident Of This County Most Of Lifetime. Two Daughters Survive.

Mrs. G. H. McCrea, 86-year-old St. Charles resident, died Sunday at the home of her daughters, Mrs. J. D. Clanton and Mrs. John H. Shutt, with whom she had made her home the past few years.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist church in St. Charles Tuesday afternoon with burial in the St. Charles cemetery.

She is survived by two daughters as mentioned above and two grandsons, Loy Clanton of Des Moines and Fon Shutt of St. Charles.

Mrs. Artrmecia McCrea, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Asa Mills, was born in 1854 in Union township, Madison county, about three miles east of Winterset. The farm was later purchased by John Orman. Her father died while yet living on the farm just a short distance of Winterset, a few months before she was born.

She, with her mother, moved to Mahaska county where she was married to G. H. McCrea in October 1874. They moved to Warren county, and later to Madison county on a farm just south of st. Charles. Mr. McCrea died May 31, 1934 and after that she made her home with her daughters.
