Lucile Morrissey, 93, of Winterset died Jan. 10, 2010, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
Funeral services are being held at 1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Jan. 13) at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset with visitation from 12:30–1:30 p.m. Burial will be at Winterset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
Lucile Morrissey was born March 1, 1916, in Dallas County to Ross and Cleta (Walters) Spillers of rural Earlham and was a 1934 graduate of Earlham High School. Her marriage to Patrick Henry “Hank” Morrissey took place Feb. 1, 1939, in Des Moines. Following their marriage, they resided in Winterset. Lucile, a homemaker, worked for Clean Towel in Winterset for several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband and five brothers.
She is survived by one daughter, Beverly Kile of Des Moines; one son, Larry Morrissey of Columbia, Mo.; and two grandchildren.

Lucile Morrissey, 93, of Winterset died Sunday, January 10, 2010 at the Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa.
A visitation with family present will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 13 at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset, where funeral services will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery, Winterset. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA.
Lucile was born March 1, 1916 in Dallas County, Iowa to the late Ross and Cleta (nee: Walters) Spillers. Her parents farmed near Earlham and she graduated from Earlham High School in 1934. Her marriage to Patrick Henry "Hank" Morrissey took place on February 1, 1939, in Des Moines and they made their home in Winterset. Lucile, a homemaker, worked for Clean Towel in Winterset for several years. She and Hank were married for 58 wonderful years before he passed away in 1997.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Kile and her husband, Richard of Des Moines; a son, Larry Morrissey and his wife, Phyllis of Columbia, Missouri; two grandchildren, Linda Morrissey and Jon (Alyssa) Morrissey; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hochstetler, Marguerite Herrick, and Ruth Klemm; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and five brothers.
