Word was received of the death of John Herr, one of Lorimor’s most esteemed residents had passed away at Stanberry, Mo., where he has been taking treatment for several months for cancer. The remains were shipped to Lorimor and were taken in charge by the members of the Masonic order.
The funeral services were held at the home Wednesday conducted by Rev. G. L. Wilson, after which the Masonic order took charge and conducted the remains to the Macksburg cemetery.
The following relatives were present from a distance: Mrs. Annie Townsend and husband, of Colorado Springs, Col.; Mrs. Hattie Garrison and husband of Woodhull, Ill.; Mrs. Marie Rowe and husband, of Macksburg, Iowa; B. F. Herr, of Harrisonville, Mo.; B. F. Herr and wife of West Liberty, Ia.
