Keith Ellsworth Wymer, 92, of Winterset died Dec. 18, 2009.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 21, at the Promise City Community Center. Burial was at Jones Cemetery in rural Promise City. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, 123 NE Second St., Stuart, IA 50250.
Keith Wymer was born Oct. 13, 1917, in rural Seymour to Hiram and Susie (Johnson) Wymer. His marriage to Carrie DeVore took place June 1, 1939. Keith worked for many years at Flynn Dairy as a mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his wife and a sister, Katherine.
He is survived by five sons — Larry Wymer of West Des Moines, Jerry Wymer of West Linn, Ore., William Wymer of Spirit Lake, Joseph Wymer of Winterset, and Don Wymer of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; five daughters — Carolyn Twogood of Des Moines, Kay Kiral of Denton, Texas, Connie Crane and Jayne Darner, both of Clive, and Phyllis Whitmer of Perry; and 36 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
