Page 1, Column 2ROSS KELSO Dead
Ross Kelso, son of Mr. And Mrs. Carroll Kelso, died last Thursday near Goldfield, Nevada, where he was timekeeper in a railroad construction camp.
No particulars of his death have been received but as many are dying of pneumonia in Goldfield, it is surmised that he was suddenly stricken with the disease. He had been ill with typhoid fever for several weeks but had returned to work and had been working two weeks before his death. The body, accompanied by one of the engineers, Mr. Cromwell, is expected to arrive Thursday, but no arrangements have been made for the funeral.
Ross Kelso was well known in Winterset. He was a clerk for Orkin & Levitt and accompanied the firm to Sioux City when they went there. For a year or more he traveled for a cash register company, resigning his position to become timekeeper in a construction camp at Goldfield about six months ago.
He was a fine young man and of more than usual ability. His death caused profound sorrow in the city, where he numbered among his friends nearly every young person in it.
