The Seven Year Old Daughter of Mr. And Mrs. John Needs Instantly Killed

About five o'clock last Friday evening, the little seven year old daughter of Mr. And Mrs. John Needs, of Walnut township, was instantly killed by lightning.

Friday was a hot, sultry day and the little girl had wandered from the house and found a resting place at the foot of a telephone pole. Soon after she left the house there was a sharp flash of lightning and a loud crash of thunder. A member of the family rushed out and noticed that a small cloud had just passed over but that no rain had fallen. Upon further investigation it was found that the telephone pole had been struck and against it leaned the helpless body of the child.

It is evident that she had been instantly killed as her clothing was intact, showing that she had experienced no suffering.
