Mrs. Mell Smith’s little child died last Sunday morning at ten o’clock, the funeral was held at the Presbyterian church. We understand that Mr. Smith was absent in Oklahoma at the time. Mrs. Smith has the sympathy of the entire community in her bereavement.

The little daughter of Melvin Smith died Sunday and the funeral was held Monday at the Presbyterian church conducted by Rev. Best after which it was laid to rest in the Earlham cemetery.

Thursday, April 11, 1901Clarice Evelyn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. M. Smith, died on Sunday morning, April 7th, after a short illness with measles and pneumonia. She was born Jan. 4, 1897, and consequently was four years, three months and three days old at the time of her death.
The father was absent in Oklahoma and was unable to come home in time for the last rites. The funeral service was held in the Presbyterian church on Monday afternoon, conducted by Revs. Best and Parker, and was largely attended. The interment was in Earlham cemetery.
