Mrs. A. B. Gray, wife of D. S. Gray, died Saturday morning, after an illness of only four days. Mrs. Gray was seventy-three years old and had been married over fifty-three years. She leaves an aged husband and six children to mourn the loss of a faithful companion and loving mother. Four of her children reside near Carson, Iowa. They are Thomas, Morton and Miss Alice and Mrs. Hattie Snapp. They arrived here Sunday to attend their mothers funeral. The other two reside here, Charles and Austin. Mrs. Gray was a kind neighbor and a good Christian woman, and will be sadly missed in the community and the church, where she was a faithful attendant and the family have the sympathy of the community in the sad bereavement.

Her death resulted from pneumonia. She had been in delicate heath a long time, but able to be around. She was sick only four days. The funeral services were held Monday at 11 a.m., by Revs. Branson, Creger and Hoover.

She was married to Daniel S. Gray March 13th, 1848. They immigrated to this State in 1855. To them were born nine children, six boys and three girls, three of whom preceeded (preceded) her to the grave, namely: Melissa, William and Nathan. The rest were all present: Thomas, Austin, Charles, Morton, Alice and Hattie (Snapp.)

She united with the M. E. Church at the age of 16 years, and has been a faithful member ever since, ever willing to do what she was able for the church and Sunday School.

She leaves an aged husband, 6 children, 21 grand children, two sisters and one brother, besides many friends, who learned to love her.

Blessed be the name of the Lord. She has one to the rest prepared for the faithful children of God.

But she who wore this mortal guise

Has fled beyond our tearful sight,

Joyful and strong, serene and wise

She lives upon the hills of light,

And waits us on that Heavenly height.
