KENNETH CARTER, Truro

Kenneth passed away on September 14, 2009 at Southern Hills Care Center in Osceola, IA. He was born December 3, 1935 in St. Charles, IA.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardys; father, Ralph; mother, Wilma; and brother, Delbert.

He is survived by two brothers, Vincent of Des Moines and Albert of Clive; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at Blair Chapel Cemetery on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 2 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Truro Congregational UCC Church.

KENNETH CARTER, Osceola

Kenneth Eugene Carter, 73, died Sept. 14, 2009, at Southern Hills Care Center in Osceola.

Graveside services were held Friday, Sept. 18, at Blair Chapel Cemetery, St. Charles, with Pastor Shonda Deranaleau officiating. Military rites were performed by V.F.W. Post 8142 of Winterset. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Truro Congregational UCC Church. Arrangements were handled by Kale Funeral Homes of Osceola and Truro.

Kenneth Carter was born Dec. 3, 1935, in St. Charles to Ralph W. and Wilma Louise (Sandoz) Carter. A graduate of Lincoln High School in Des Moines, he also was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1954–57.

His marriage to Ardys Ellen Cornell took place Oct. 6, 1956, in San Juan Capistrano, Calif. They moved to Des Moines following his discharge from the Marines and resided there until 1976, when they moved to Truro. Kenneth was a truck driver for Bulk Mail Center in Des Moines for 27 years. He also raised Angus cattle and dogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a brother, Delbert.

He is survived by two brothers, Vincent of Des Moines and Albert of Clive.
