RALPH JACKSON, Peru

Ralph L. Jackson, 96, of Peru died Sept. 5, 2009, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services were held today (Wednesday, Sept. 9) at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with the Rev. Dr. Beverlee Bell officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to his family for future designation.

Ralph Jackson was born July 28, 1913, in Union County to Byron and Gertie (Hiskey) Jackson. His marriage to Ila Mae Hendrickson took place July 2, 1937, in Creston. Ralph was a lifelong farmer and resident of Union and Madison counties. He also was a member of Farm Bureau.

He was preceded in death by three sisters — Loena Handley, Vada Shelley and Helen Jackson.

He is survived by his wife, Ila, of Peru; two sons, Billy W. Jackson of Greenfield and Jerry D. Jackson of Peru; and eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
