Susan Ella Young was born in Walnut township, Madison county, Iowa, December 24, 1866, and died in Scott township September 13, 1901. She married Porter Tomlinson, November 26, 1884, and was the mother of four children. Her funeral was held at the M.E. church at East Peru, on Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. L. E. Follansbee. A large procession of friends followed her remains from the home to the funeral and the floral tributes profusely offered gave evidence of the high place she held in the hearts of many friends.

She leaves a husband, four children, a mother and several brothers and sisters and an extensive circle of intimate friends to mourn the loss of a good woman. Her funeral was held at the East Peru M.E. Church on Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. L. E. Follansbee. The procession that followed the remains from the house to the funeral extended nearly one-half a mile. She was buried in the Peru cemetery.

The funeral services were conducted at the M.E. church at East Peru on Sunday afternoon, Rev. Follansbee officiating. A large procession of friends and neighbors accompanied her remains from the home and covered with beautiful wreaths of flowers she was laid to rest in the Peru cemetery.
