Martin Jessup, an old resident of Madison county, and a veteran of the civil war, died at his home in Macksburg yesterday morning.

Obituary

Martin Jessup was born in Indiana July 23, 1839. He removed to Madison county Iowa with his parents just before the civil war. He enlisted in Co. H, 4th Iowa Infantry and served seventeen months, when he was discharged for disability. He was married to Delvina Moon in 1863. They lived in Iowa and Colorado until his death at Macksburg September 18, 1901, aged 62 years, 1 month and 26 days. He leaves a wife, two sons and one daughter.

Note: Burial was made in the Moon cemetery.
