ARLENE G. JOHNSON, Olathe, KS

Arlene G. Johnson, 92, formerly of Ankeny, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2009, at Good Samaritan Society in Olathe, Kansas.

A Funeral service and burial will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at McLaren's Chapel with burial at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Arlene was born in 1917 in St. Charles Iowa to Charles and Vesta Killam. She retired from the IRS in Des Moines, Iowa in 1982. Arlene was able to play the piano beautifully by ear, as her mother had done. She also loved to make adorable dresses for her grand- daughters when they were young.

Arlene is survived by her daughter, Deb Frazell (Steve) of Overland Park, Kansas; two sons, David Johnson of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Dennis Johnson (Pam) of Cedar Falls, Iowa; six grandchildren, Jennifer Dalin, Katie Carter, Scott Dalin, Drew Johnson, Spencer Johnson, and Laura Johnson; two step-grandchildren and a great-grandson. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, her parents, and seven brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McLaren's Chapel. The family would like to thank Arlene's caregivers at Good Samaritan Society and Olathe Hospice.
