John Frank Bond, son of H. M. and Addie Fitzhugh Bond, was born in Madison county, Iowa, May 9, 1906 and died at Des Moines, Aug. 7, 1925, at the age of 19 years, 2 months and 28 days.
The most of his life had been spent in Madison county. Only nine days before his death, he was strong and well with the ambition and plans of youth. The accidental injury to his hand, while serious in itself, was not thought at first to endanger his life, but gangrene setting in after several days soon resulted in his death.
He was a young man with many fine qualities of mind and heart, the possessor of numerous friends. One of his acquaintances was heard to say "Frank hasn't an enemy in the world." During his brief stay in the hospital, by his cheerful and winning personality, he attracted many of the visitors and patients there, so they would often inquire as to his condition. Almost like a lightning bolt from a clear sky comes this sudden blow to parents, brothers, sisters and friends.
He leaves to mourn their loss his father and mother, two sisters, Mrs. Grace Leuben of Appleton, Minn., and Mrs. Mary Young of St. Charles; two brothers, Robert H. and Steven Fitzhugh Bond, four nephews and four nieces, and many other relatives and friends. The family has the deep sympathy of the entire community in this time of tears and grief.
