CHARLES RICK BARTHOLOMEW

Charles Rick Bartholomew, 21, who lived most of his life at Truro, was killed at Dang Ho in Vietnam on Thursday, March 21, 1968, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Bartholomew, who live at Farmington.

His death was in line of duty, but was not caused by enemy action. The young man was a dental technician, third class, U.S. navy, and was serving with the Third Marine division in Vietnam.

A son of Clark and Darlene Grimes Bartholomew, he was born at Bayonne, N.J. His father was in military service and he lived for many years with his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Grimes of Truro. He graduated from Interstate 35 High school at Truro with the class of 1964.

He is survived by his parents; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Vanatta Grimes of Farmington; and two sisters, Micky Kay and Cheryl Ruth, both at home.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, with the Rev. Millard Marshall of Keosauqua officiating. Burial was made in Ebenezer cemetery near Truro.
