GARLAND ACKELSON Missing In Austria

Pvt. Garland Ackelson of Peru, who has been serving with the American forces of occupation in Austria, has been missing in that country since May 21, according to word received recently by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emery Ackelson of Peru.

Private Ackelson had seen service through the European campaign with an infantry regiment of Patton's Third army. He saw action in France, Luxembourg and Germany, and was awarded the Bronze Star medal.
