ALMA LYMAN, WINTERSET

Alma E. Lyman, 72, of Winterset died Aug. 4, 2009, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

No services are planned at this time. Arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.

Alma Lyman was born June 18, 1937, in Delaware to James A. and Amanda Sallie (Foraker) Morris. On Aug. 3, 1954, she married James E. Lyman Sr. in North Carolina. Alma, who was retired, worked as a waitress, dietary aide and in manufacturing.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

She is survived by her children — Mary Lyman of Green Top, Mo., Amanda Elam of Iowa Falls, James Lyman Jr. of Winterset, John Lyman of Greenfield, and Sallie Mead of Winterset; her companion, Art Wright of Lorimor; a sister, Agnus Walters of Delaware; a brother, John Morris of Des Moines; and 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
