JIM MORRIS, PERU

Jim Morris, 70, of Peru died July 31, 2009, at his home.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with the Rev. Dr. Beverlee Bell officiating. Burial was at Peru Cemetery. Memorials given to the family will be directed for a future designation. Funeral arrangements were handled by McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.

Jim Morris was born Oct. 23, 1938, in Lenox to Lewis and Veldeva (Vanderpluym) Morris and was a 1957 graduate of Winterset High School. His marriage to Judith Ann Ringgenberg took place Sept. 23, 1961, in Winterset. Jim was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1961 to 1963. He spent most of his life in Madison County, retiring from the Madison County ASCS office in 2003 as a customer service representative. Jim also had been a farmer, served on the Winterset COOP Board of Directors and was a member of the Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Jody Lynne Morris.

He is survived by his wife, Judy, of Peru; a son, SFC James R. Morris of Ft. Mill, S.C.; a sister, Bea Ann Penn of Des Moines; and two grandchildren.

JIM MORRIS, Peru

Jim Morris, 70, of Peru died Friday, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset. Burial will be in the Peru Cemetery at Peru.

Jim was a 1957, graduate of Winterset High School and had spent most of his lifetime in Madison County, having retired from the Madison County ASCS - FSA Office. Jim had also been a farmer.

Jim is survived by his wife, Judy Morris of Peru; son, SFC James R. Morris of Ft. Mill, SC; sister, Bea Ann (Bill) Penn of Des Moines; and grandchildren, Tyler Hoy and Alexis Morris.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis & Veldeva (Vanderpluym) Morris; and daughter, Jody Lynne Morris.

Visitation will be Monday from noon to 8 p.m. at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to his family for a future designation.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
