LARRY SHUEY, COLFAX

Larry Dean Shuey, 71, of Colfax, died July 29, 2009, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Memorial services were held Friday, July 31, at Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Larry Shuey Memorial Fund. Arrangements were handled by Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Online condolences may be made at www.coburnfuneral homes.com.

Larry Shuey was born July 15, 1938, in Nevada, Iowa, to Harold L. and Dorothy M. (Myers) Shuey. His marriage to Gertrude “Ann” Jones took place April 10, 1959, at the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax. Larry worked at Armstrong Tire in Des Moines, retiring in 1994.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Glen; and a sister, Mary.

He is survived by his wife, Ann, of Colfax; his children — Brad Shuey of Colfax, Michelle Shuey of Colfax, and Staci Shortt of Winterset; a sister, Dolores Norman of Decatur City; and two grandchildren.
