EARL OSBORN of Winterset Dies

Earl "Doc" Osborn of Winterset died Sunday, Oct. 6, 1963, at his home here at the age of 77 years.

Mr. Osborn was a lifelong resident of Madison county. He was born near Peru Sept 10, 1886, a son of James and Permilia Young Osborn. His active life was spent in farming near Peru. He moved to Winterset in 1956.

He was married January 23, 1909, to Sallie Palmer, who survives him. He also leaves five children, Homer Osborn of Winterset, Maxel Osborn and Mrs. Vera Igo of Winterset, and Mrs. Opal Ahart of Spirit Lake. In addition, there are 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence Osborn of Winterset, and a sister, Mrs. Edhel Palmer of Osceola.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Collins Funeral home, with the Rev. John C. Porath, pastor of the First Methodist church of Winterset officiating. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
