ERNEST MUELLER Died Thursday

Prominent Farmer Succumbs at Home Northeast of Winterset

Ernest W. Mueller, prominent Madison county farmer, and member of a family widely known in this county since early days, died at his home northeast of Winterset, Thursday, Oct. 2, 1947, following several months of rapidly failing health. He was 67 years of age.

Mr. Mueller was a life-long resident of this county, having been born Nov. 3, 1879, on the farm in Union and Jefferson townships where he spent his life and where his death occurred. He was the youngest son of George and Catharine Schott Mueller, who settled on that farm in Pioneer days.

Mr. Mueller was married Feb. 1, 1915, to Georgia Hunt, who survives him. He also leaves six children, Mrs. Gretchen Casper of near Winterset, Ernest Mueller, Jr., of Dallas, Emma Mueller of Madison, Wis., Merl and George Mueller at home, and Etta Jane Mueller, a student at the State University of Iowa, at Iowa City. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Steve Brittain of Lisbon, N. Dak.; and two brothers, Oscar Mueller of Montana and George Mueller of Williston, N. Dak.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Jefferson United Brethren church, in charge of the Revs. Suckow and Elliott. Burial was made in the Jefferson cemetery.
