LOIS LAMBORN, WINTERSET

Lois M. Lamborn, 70 of Winterset died June 21, 2009, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Funeral services were held today (Wednesday, June 24) at the First Baptist Church in Winterset. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.

Lois Lamborn was born Dec. 3, 1938, in St. Louis County, Mo., to Louis and Leona (Wooldridge) Moeller. She graduated from Herculanium High School in Missouri and later attended Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, Mo., and Ouachita College in Arkadelphia, Ark. She was united in marriage to Richard Lamborn on Aug. 15, 1958, at the First Baptist Church in Arnold, Mo. Lois was employed by the Winterset Community School as a teacher’s associate for special education students. Serving the Lord, she was appointed a home missionary by the Southern Baptist Convention in July of 1975. She was involved in many activities such as Women’s Missionary Union, teaching Sunday school and Girls In Action, a mission studies group which mentored young women.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Albert and Clifford Moeller.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, of Winterset; one son, Richard “Rick” Lamborn Jr. of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two daughters, Esther Huhn of Overland Park, Kan., and Miriam McNutt of Raleigh, N.C.; two brothers, Walter Moeller of Levelland, Texas, and Charles Moeller, currently providing missionary work in Moscow, Russia; and six grandchildren.
