Michael McFarland, 61, of Winterset died June 13, 2009, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 18, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. Visitation with family will be held from 3–6 p.m., prior to services on Thursday. Per his request, Michael will be cremated following services. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be made to the McFarland family at ochiltree.com.
Michael McFarland was born March 31, 1948, in Leon to Jack and Niada (Honn) McFarland. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked as an operating engineer for Corell Construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by three sons, Chad McFarland of Clarksville, Mo., Tax McFarland of Winterset, and Dusty McFarland of Des Moines; seven siblings — Pamela Sato, Jerry McFarland, Renee Klingaman, Ricky McFarland, Becky McFarland, Geoffrey McFarland, and Rodney McFarland; and four grandchildren.
