DIANE L. KERR, WINTERSET

Diane L. Kerr went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ June 9, 2009, with loving family members and friends by her side.

Diane was born May 24, 1952, to Homer and Grace (Morse) Osborn in Winterset, Iowa.

A celebration of life service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 12, at the Foursquare Church in Winterset. Burial services followed at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter, Iowa.

Diane was a lifetime resident of Winterset, with an exception of 18 years of adventure as a Navy wife — living in California, Nebraska, Japan, South Carolina and Washington state.

Diane worked as a financial planning clerk at Farm Bureau in Des Moines for 18 years, where she enjoyed working with many dear friends. She was a member of the Oak Grove Community Church.

Diane married Randy Kerr on April 18, 1970. To this union were born two wonderful daughters, Heather (Jim) Hatch and Jennifer (Shawn) Stroeber.

Diane was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She adored and was adored by her grandchildren: Evan, Michaela, Seth, Elijah, Jacob, Zechariah, Caleb, Honor, Titus, and Isolde. The newest Stroeber boy is due to arrive in September. She cherished every moment, every smile, laugh, or giggle, every dandelion picked, pictures drawn, cooking adventures and quiet moments on the porch swing with her beloved grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Diane is survived by her husband Randy; children and grandchildren; her sisters, Margaret (Donald) Bittenger, Darlene Eckstein, Winterset, and Dorothy (Larry) Beebe, Dallas Center; brothers, Walter (Kathie) Osborn, Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Dennis Osborn, Nagodoches, Texas; mother-in-law Lillian Kerr of Winterset; brother/sister-in-law Terry and Pam Kerr of Winterset and Dan (Diane) Kerr of Andover, Minn.; numerous nephews and nieces; and her Oak Grove Church family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in her name.

“Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalm 23:6
