R. A. Gillispie, who lives two miles west of Pitzer, is reported very ill with pneumonia, and his death is looked for at any time. Later—Mr. Gillispie died Tuesday morning and the remains were interred in the Winterset cemetery Thursday.

Obituary

Robert A. Gillespie was born in Guernsey county, Ohio, August 7th, 1832. United with the U. P. church at an early age. Removed to Madison county in 1890, where he resided until death. After four months of great suffering the Master called him June 5th, 1900. The funeral services, conducted at the home by the writer, were largely attended. Interment at Winterset cemetery. A good testimony born by the deceased: “I am satisfied and ready to depart.”

Friends and neighbors showed much kindness, for which they have the heartfelt thanks of the bereaved family. ---- R.C.F.

Obituary

Robert A. Gillespie was born in Guernsey county, Ohio, Aug. 7, 1852. He united with the U. P. church at an early age. He came to Iowa In February 1852 and on Feb. 10, 1885, was married to Miss Elva Guye. They located near Chariton, Iowa, and six years later, removed to Madison county where he resided until death. To this union were born three sons and two daughters.

After four months of great suffering, the Master called him on Jun 5, 1900.

The funeral services, conducted by the writer, were largely attended. Interment in Winterset cemetery.

A good testimony borne by the deceased was: “I am satisfied and ready to depart”.

Friends and neighbors showed much kindness, for which they have the heartfelt thanks of the bereaved family.
