Mrs. Julia A. Platt of Winterset died Wednesday, December 6, 1972, at Madison County Memorial Hospital She was 86 years of age.
Mrs. Platt had lived all but four years of her life in Madison County. She was born near the old town of Webster on April 10, 1886, a daughter of Epheriam and Eunice Hatch Low. She was married May 19, 1904, at Harrisonville, Missouri to Edward F. Platt. His death occurred in 1949.
She was a member of the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church where she was active in the Women's Society for Christian Service and the senior Sunday school. She was a member of the Sixty-Plus Club of Winterset.
She is survived by three children, Mrs. Nile Harden of near Winterset, Paul Platt of near Winterset and Mrs. Kenneth Hoepker of near Orient; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a brother, Henry Low of Winterset.
Three sisters and five brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the First United Methodist Church of Winterset, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Newton M. Coughenour. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
