Word was received here Thursday that Ernest Earll Hurlbut had passed away at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines that morning. Mr. Hurlbut had been very low for several weeks and had been in a coma part of the time.

Funeral Services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church, services conducted by the pastor Rev. J. A. Kettle.

Interment was made in the St. Charles Cemetery beside his wife who passed away three years ago. Bussanmas Furneral Service

OBITUARY -

Ernest Earll Hurlbut son of John W. and Georgiana Hurlbut, was born April 29, 1874 in a log cabin in Dallas County, seven miles southwest of Perry, Iowa, on a prairie farm pioneered by his parents in 1870.

He passed away January 4, 1945, his early education was received in No. 9 school in Dallas. During the winter of 1889, he was converted during a visit to his uncle's family at Jamacia. He joined the Wesley Chapel Class, a county church near his home in Dallas county. He began attending Simpson Academy at the age of 18 to prepare himself to enter Simpson College with view of entering the ministry.

He was married to Miss Della Baldwin, February, 1903. To this union six children were born all of whom survive him except a son who died in infancy.

He made his home on a farm near St. Charles, Iowa, for the past thirty years and raised his family there. He was active in the work of the Methodist church at St. Charles during those years.

In December, 1941, his wife preceded him in death. Since that time he has lived with a son on his farm. He is survived by his only brother H. R. Hurlbut, of Indianaola, Iowa and three daughters and two sons.
