WILLIAM CUTSHALL DIES

DeSoto Special, May 1st:
William Cutshall who has been an invalid for a number of years, was released from his suffering and passed away at his home here Tuesday, April 20th.The funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the M. E. church, and friends and a large number of relatives were present to pay their last respects to the departed.

The services were in charge of the Rev. S. C. Peterson of Boone, a former pastor here, who read the scripture from the 15th chapter of 1st Corinthians, read the obituary and also a poem which the family had dedicated to the deceased, then delivered the sermon which was followed by a prayer by the Rev. C. F. Hand of Van Meter, present minister. The services were interspersed by musical numbers, Asleep in Jesus, Rock of Ages and Just When I Need Him Most, which were sung by a quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Benfield, with Mrs. Ralph Shetterly accompanying at the piano. Interment was made in the Oakland cemetery south of DeSoto.

Mr. Cutshall was born in 1871 near Van Meter, where he resided until about 12 years ago when he moved to DeSoto. He was married to Maude Green in 1914 and to this union three daughters were born, Dorothy, Darlene and Emogene. He confessed his faith in Christ early in life but ill health hindered him from taking an active part in religious activities for a number of years.

Besides his widow and three daughters, he is survived by three brothers, John of DeSoto and Perry and George of near Van Meter, also one sister, Mrs. Jamie Sheets of near Van Meter. there is also a host of other relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
