ELLA McDONALD DIES AT 87 YEARS

Funeral Services Held Here Monday for Long-time Resident

Mrs. Ella McDonald, a resident of Madison county most of her life, died Saturday, March 7, in Des Moines. She was 87 years of age.

She leaves a son, Lee McDonald and a daughter, Mrs. Ina Witham, both of Des Moines; a sister, Cora Shepherd of Minnesota; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held this Monday from the Richards Funeral home conducted by the Rev. John C. Porath, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Mrs. McDonald was the former Ella Klingman, daughter of John and Elizabeth Sims Klingman. She was born in Madison county Aug. 31, 1871. Her early life was spent in the Worthington community. she joined the Worthington church as a girl.

She was married Jan. 27, 1892 to William M. McDonald, who preceded her in death. Since 1957 she had lived in Des Moines with her daughter, Mrs. Ina Witham. Her death occurred at a Des Moines nursing home.
