County and City

Mr. Bullock, an old citizen of Monroe township, died last week at the hospital for the insane, at Clarinda. The remains were brought back in charge of Deputy Sheriff Shoff, who happened to be at Clarinda at the time, in charge of an insane patient. The funeral was held last Thursday, the remains being interred at the Bethany cemetery, which is on the land of the deceased. Mr. Bullock’s mind had been impaired by ill health, and he was taken to the hospital a few weeks ago, in the hope that he might be benefited by treatment. He was a well-to-do farmer, prominent and well known in that part of the county, and his death will leave a noticeable vacancy in the community. He was 62 years of age.
