Willis H. Capps, 71, of Winterset died of complications of pneumonia Saturday, April 25, 1998, at Des Moines General Hospital.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 28, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset with Pastor John Shaull officiating. Burial was at the Orient Cemetery.
Willis Capps was born Sept. 2, 1926, in Adair County to Lewis and Mable (Swanger) Capps. He married Lillian Purdy Oct. 5, 1946, in Troy, Kan. Willis was an electrical lineman for the city of Winterset, retiring in 1988.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, infant son and four brothers.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol Capps and Dianna Sparks (husband Jerry), both of Winterset,
five sons, Lewis (wife Cheryl), Earl (wife Sheri), Larry, Jeffrey (wife Leah) and David (wife Sheryl), all of Winterset; 22 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
