Wednesday, May 13, 2009Thomas “Tom” J. Johnson, 60, of Winterset died May 8, 2009, at his home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 12, at the Peru United Methodist Church. Burial was at Peru Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to his family. Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.
Tom Johnson was born Jan. 7, 1949, in Des Moines to Frank O. and Mary E. (Van Haaften) Johnson. During his working career, Tom drove a truck, worked construction and was a certified welder. He also was a member of the Peru United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his parents, Frank and Mary, of Peru; his children — Tracey Kelly of Arispe, Danialle Hoffman of Polk City, Jackie Johnson-Smith of West Des Moines, and Tommy Johnson and Jeremiah Johnson, both of Winterset; four sisters, Nanci Iiams of Cedar Rapids, Rosemary McDaniel of Pleasantville, and Darlene Miller and Joy Miller, both of Peru; and 11 grandchildren.
