Doris Brafford, 78, died Sunday, September 28, 2008 at Bishop Drumm Care Center in Johnston. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, with visitation Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at the St. Charles Cemetery in St. Charles.

Doris was born September 25, 1930 to Osmond and Erma Miller in Elston, Ia. She married Charles Brafford in June 1972. She enjoyed family reunions, car rides and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, James Tharp; daughter, Susan (Paul) Floyd; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sisters, Deloris Nelson, Delma Woolery, Dorinne DeGroote; and brothers David (Marlene) Miller, and Duddley (Elaine) Miller.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Brafford, and her parents Osmond and Erma Miller and her brother Marvin Miller.
