Mrs. Walter DeBord died at her home in the Northeast part of town Thursday night, May 20, 1909, after an illness of several months from acute Bright's disease.
The body was taken on Sunday to the Baptist Church, north of Winterset where a 2 o'clock funeral service was conducted by Rev. Atwood and burial was made in the Baptist cemetery.

Myrtle Wright was born in Aubourn, Namahaw county, Nebraska, June 22nd, 1881, living there till March 1887, when she moved with her parents to Gove county, Kansas, from there to Denver, Colorado, remaining there but a short time and then removed to Washington (Terr.), living there but a short time, then moved to North Yamhill, Oregon, from there to Trego county, Kansas, and from there to Buffalo county, Nebraska, and from there to Marysville, Kansas, and from there to Winterset, Iowa in 1899.
On June 1st, 1902, she was united in marriage to Walter G. Debord. To this union were born two children, Mabel and Franklin. Mabel died April 20th, 1905. She departed this life May 20th, 1909, leaving to mourn her loss a husband, one son, four brothers and many relatives and friends. She was loved by all who knew her.
In June 1907 she joined the Ladies’ of the Maccabee lodge, and was a member at the time of her death.
