Bessie Patterson, eldest daughter of George and Annie Patterson, was born November 27, 1886, and died March 26, 1906. She leaves an aged great grandfather, one grandfather, one grandmother, father, mother, two sisters and four brothers besides numerous other relatives to mourn her loss.
It can be truly said of her “the good die young” for of all her associates none could say but that Bessie was the best of all. That dread disease, consumption, had marked her for its victim and now she is safe “Over the River” and only those left behind are desolate.

Bessie Patterson, who had been failing in health from consumption since last October, passed away at her home south of town, Monday evening.
On Tuesday short services were held at the house after which the remains were laid to rest in the Fields cemetery.
