MAXINE HART, WINTERSET

Maxine Hart, 86, of Winterset died April 15, 2009, at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 18, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to her family. Online condolences may be sent to the family at ochiltree.com.

Maxine Hart was born April 29, 1922, in Madison County to Mary Bruett Kirby. Her marriage to Ivan Hart took place Dec. 14, 1940, in Missouri. Maxine worked as a bookkeeper in the family’s Allis Chalmers dealership and later as a bookkeeper for NAPA in Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a grandson, Kris Hart.

She is survived by three sons, Larry Hart of Roswell, Ga., Phillip Hart of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Neil Hart of West Richland, Wash.; one daughter, Nina Hitsman of Des Moines; a brother, Leon Hardy of Des Moines; and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
