Services for Esther H. Wood, 90, who died Monday, April 20, 2009, at the Westview Care Center in Indianola, will be held 1:30 p.m., Thursday, April 23 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Webb Cemetery rural Norwalk.
Esther was born in St. Charles and was an elementary teacher at Summerset, Round Grove, and Martensdale/St Marys. She grew up in the Indianola Friends Church and was a member of the Chapel of Faith Church in Indianola.
She is survived by her son, Richard (Sally) Wood of Indianola; four grandchildren, Todd (Diane) Wood of Oakton, VA, Stacy (Scott) Thomas of Indianola, Tom (Denise) Wood of Norwalk and Roxanne Wood; and nine great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clive Wood; parents, Walter and Anna Edwards; son, Franklin; five brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation will be held 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
