DOROTHY BEAR, WELDON

Dorothy Elizabeth Bear, daughter of John and Mildred (Bindel) Wiedman, was born Dec. 26, 1940, in Madison County. She passed from this life Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola at 68 years of age.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Roy Bear on April 5, 1958, in Winterset and 10 children blessed this union. Dorothy and Roy resided southwest of Patterson before moving to Weldon.

Dorothy was a loving mother and wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, dancing, hunting and helping Roy farm. She loved the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Relatives who preceded Dorothy in death were her parents and sister, Rose Rinkert.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Roy; her children — Teresa Jordan of Weldon, Roy Daniel (Jeanie) Bear of Humbolt, Alisa (Randy) Reed of New Virginia, Terry (Lorie) Bear of Weldon, Dorothy Annette (Ron) Graham of Corydon, Marlene (Brian) Carlberg of Garden Grove, Larry (Christine) Bear of Thayer, Diane Rouse of Leon, Loretta (Scott) Marcus of Eaton, Ohio, and Pamela Livesay of Bristow, Okla.; her brothers, Glen (Shirley) Wiedman of Winterset and Johnny (Nancy) Wiedman of Des Moines; her sisters, Helen Wiedman of Winterset, Edith (Phil) Jacobs of St. Marys, Judy (Charles) VanHorn of Portage, Wis., Joann (Richard) Barker of Winterset, Beverly Maxwell of Winterset, and Kathy (Randy) Jones of New Virginia; 27 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and a host of friends.

Services were held at Kale Funeral Home Feb. 12, 2009, with Rev. Kevin Smith officiating. Burial was at Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola.
