DON ZIEMANN, WINTERSET

Don Ziemann, 86, of Winterset died Feb. 17, 2009, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 21, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. Burial was at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed in Don’s name to the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, 505 Fifth Avenue, Suite 444, Des Moines, IA 50309.

Don Ziemann was born Dec. 25, 1922, in rural Van Meter (Madison County) to Otto and Eveline (Wishmier) Ziemann and was a graduate of Van Meter High School. His marriage to Norma Fogler took place June 15, 1945, in Patterson. Don was a lifelong farmer.

He was preceded in death by his wife; a daughter, Donella; and a sister, Pauline Klindt.

He is survived by a daughter, Marty Albert of Norwalk; two sons, Dennis Ziemann of Van Meter and Mark Ziemann of LaGrange, Ky.; and seven grandchildren.

DON ZIEMANN, Winterset

Don Ziemann, 86, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009.

A visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m., Friday, February 20 at Ochiltree Funeral Service where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, February 21, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation.

Don was born December 25, 1922 in Madison County near Van Meter; to Otto and Eveline (Wishmier) Ziemann. He was united in marriage to Norma Fogler on June 15, 1945 in Patterson.

Don is survived by a daughter, Marty Albert (Mick) of Norwalk; two sons, Dennis Ziemann (Julia) of Van Meter; Mark Ziemann (Deb) of LaGrange, KY; and seven grandchildren (Tony and Liz Albert; Nick and Jake Ziemann and Ashley, Kelsi and David Ziemann).
